We honor the memory of our classmate Bill Velting, who passed on April 1 near Branson, Missouri. Bill and his wife Jan were spending winters there.
Jan wrote on Facebook: "The Lord took my Bill home to heaven today. How very thankful I am to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is better off now. I will always be grateful for the ten extra years we had together. We just enjoyed three wonderful months in our beloved Ozarks and he was happy. We knew it was just a matter of time and I'm thankful he went quickly and at home rather than a hospital."
We extend our sympathy to Jan and to Bill's family and friends. We are grateful for this reminder in Thessalonians 4:14-- "For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him."
Bill's obituary can be found here.
